This month we meet Leah Morris a Certified Life and Relationship Transition Coach from California in the USA. Read on to learn more about Leah... About Leah Morris: From: Sacramento, California, USA Business name: Life Remade Describe your coaching business in one sentence: My Life and Relationship Transition Coaching consists of 3 main areas: relationship trauma recovery, communication skills enhancement, and empowered personal development. Meet Leah: QUESTION 1: What one book should every coach read - and why? Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay C. Gibson is a life changing book that creates crystal clear awareness around our internal navigation systems and how they were formed in childhood. QUESTION 2: Which website do you visit the most? I don't really frequent a specific website aside from social media and my own site. However, I do enjoy reading articles from my peers in Medium and the New York Times. Also, I find myself using Yelp a lot since I highly value reviews and the trust that businesses build with their customers/clients. QUESTION 3: Whom do you admire most? There are so many layers to this now that I'm sitting to write an answer. The first person who comes to mind is Oprah and other powerful and courageous well-known women. And then suddenly my past self pops into my head, and my current self as well. I think I can see glimpses of my own courage in the other people I admire now. It's all just a reflection... which I think is really interesting. What you see is what you are. QUESTION 4: What's your vision for your life? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? My vision is to be in a place of deep compassion and impact. I see myself leading a team of coaches, influencers and powerhouses that share the same values and intention as I do. I hope to be a teacher of teachers and for the legacy I leave behind to be reflected in the ripples of my work. QUESTION 5: What are your top 3 goals at the moment? My big projects right now are the launch of my podcast, "Deep Chats Podcast" on iTunes and Spotify. The second is my hand-painted Sensory Activation Deck that will be released for purchase in the summer of 2020. And finally my book about the laws of authenticity which I hope to have published by this summer as well. QUESTION 6: What has been your most powerful moment in coaching so far? I have so many "aha" moments with clients that I could share but I think the most lovely ones are the subtle shifts in perspective that have happened. No tangible changes occurred, but when the lens that they look at the world through is cleared, the light just beams from their entire face. It's like seeing someone being born. No words. QUESTION 7: What are your Top 3 favourite coaching tools and/or resources? I love using my values finding exercise which helps individuals claim what it is they need to feel fulfilled. It's amazing how many people have never been given permission or space to do so. I also love guided visualizations where I see there is a block. QUESTION 8: What do you love most about being a coach? I love the groundedness of it and the movement that it creates for people. It's action based which automatically means there's growth at the end of it. I just love that aspect. QUESTION 9: Tell us a secret about you... I think that some people might look at me and think that I was just born with this confidence. But the truth is that I never in a million years thought I could be a coach. My internal blocks were fierce and strong. It took a lot of work on myself to get to this place I'm at now in my business and personal life. QUESTION 10: If you could change one thing in our world, what would it be? And how would you go about it? I would change how we understand emotions. The world does a good job of shaming emotions, and I think that if we held more space for them, we would avoid things like narcissism, codependency, depression and anxiety. It's the shaming of emotions that creates the cycles of toxicity that we've found ourselves in.
